STAR STRUCK

I am not the kind to get star struck. I have met many famous people and yet I don't get giddy, nor do I freak out... I truly believe that celebrities have chosen a different life path and are still humans who put on their underwear just like we do!

Last night I was at The Abbey in West Hollywood with Joe Granish and the 'ITalian' and I walked by Matt Lucas, creator and star of Little Britain & Little Britain USA, without any hesitation I said to him as I walked by "I am a really big fan of yours and really admire all your work, thank you." After I passed him up and caught up with the boys at the bar I asked Joe if he still had his camera - NO, I couldn't do it! Matt was at a bar relaxing and I didn't want to bug... HOLY CRAP, I BECAME STAR STRUCK!!

I argued back and forth of whether or not I should walk back up to him and ask for a photo but I decided to let it go and just retain the memory without a photo - unfortunately. If you aren't fully aware of who Matt and all his wonderfulness is check out the YouTube clip below of him on Little Britain playing Vicky Pollard - the original one!

THEY KEPT VICKY

Even though I haven't seen Little Britain USA on HBO I check out the clips on occasion on YouTube. I am so relieved that they kept Vicky Pollard character on board! The clip above is hilarious and she makes me LOL when she calls her private part 'Dawson's Creek!!!'

LIFE ON MARS

Did you happen to see Life on Mars tonight? If you didn't, I have one word to describe the episode I saw - UNFORGETTABLE!

Taking up the issue of gay life in the year 1973, I am not saying this show is so dynamic just because they did one episode on homosexuality! I've been watching the show for the last three weeks and all of the episodes have been well written and dynamic, I think ABC has themselves a hit! If you didn't know (because I didn't until I looked it up, but Life on Mars was originally a show over in Great Britain. After it became a success over there then it was brought to America. These days shows seem to travel all over the world being rewritten to suit the country it is being broadcast in. Shows like Little Britain, Kath and Kim, Dancing with the Stars, Big Brother, and Life on Mars are just some shows that originally debuted abroad!)

Tonight the episode was about gay bashing and gay(s) who served in the Vietnam War. I will not give away all of the juicy details of this episode but if you watch it'll definitely teach you something about tolerance and your choice of words when addressing your fellow man!

Log onto www.abc.com to watch the full episode of Life on Mars, you will surely like!!!

WHICH IS FUNNIER?

I've had major reservations about Little Britain coming to the States. You decide, which is funnier?

CHINESE APPLES?

I just got back from lunch at a local Greek eatery and picked up a Arizona Pomegranate Green Tea drink.

After drinking the entire drink I read the entire bottle and noticed that it said ‘Chinese Apple.” Is a pomegranate an apple from China? I had to look it up on Wiipedia. The following is what I got from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomegranate

“The Pomegranate (Punica granatum) is a fruit-bearing deciduous shrub or small tree growing to 5–8 m tall. The pomegranate is native to the region from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran to the Himalayas in northern India and has been cultivated and naturalized over the whole Mediterranean region and the Caucasus since ancient times. It is widely cultivated throughout Armenia, Iran, India, the drier parts of southeast Asia, Malaya, the East Indies, and tropical Africa. Introduced into Latin America and California by Spanish settlers in 1769, pomegranate is now cultivated mainly in the drier parts of California and Arizona for its fruits exploited commercially as juice products gaining in popularity since 2001 [9] [10]. In the global functional food industry, pomegranate is often mentioned among a novel category of exotic plant sources called "superfruits". Fresh pomegranate season is from September to November in North America.[1]”

I started to chuckle because it reminded me of a funny skit on Little Britain involving to proper English ladies. “Judy” (left) is a mild mannered lady who is pudgy yet sweet. The other, “Maggie” (right) is a conservative bigot to say the least – LOL. Check out the scene I grabbed from YouTube below but in brief whenever Maggie eats, drinks or engages in something that is deemed as improper she throws up all over the place… yah it’s funny!

And as always, enjoy the clip!!
