DEPECHE ON KIMMEL

On Friday, April 23 my all-time favorite group, Depeche Mode, played Jimmy Kimmel. Wait, wait, wait... let me clarify something. Five bands every week play Kimmel - no big deal. Smaller bands with a small fan base usually perform in Jimmy's intimate indoor concert theatre, at most it fits in about 100/200 people - yah, not too big. There is also the other outdoor arena concert called the Pontiac Garage. Much bigger than the indoor theatre, the Pontiac Garage easily fits one thousand people if properly crammed in, in fact I've seen Dave Gahan, lead singer of Mode, perform on this stage numerous years ago! But when Depeche Mode comes to town what to do? If you are the new and upcoming W Hotel in Hollywood you partner with Jimmy Kimmel and erect a huge stage on Hollywood Boulevard stretching four LA city blocks and host a party that would almost seem like Times Square! Depeche Mode attracted a crowd of an estimated 10,000 people *some papers say that 14,000 people could have been present but I doubt that*.

Eric and I had been planning on spending the night on the Boulevard but decided not to when I found out that my tickets would not get me front row - instead media tickets in the media bullpen about 150 yards back. Needless to say it was bitter sweet to know that we would not have to endure the cold night but would also not be able to see the band up close like we planned. *insert sad face here* Overall the day went pretty fast and I was also blessed to spend time with Lisa and Tumara - two people I've known forever... I wish Karen and Laura could have been there!

To make a long story short the band too the stage and rocked the boulevard - what an unforgettable night!!! Eric and I had an amazing time and I'll never forget it for as long as I live! It's hard to hear but the site of 10,000 people swaying their hands together in unison is pretty remarkable!

ALMOST PEE'D MY PANTS

The clip below is why I look forward to watching Jimmy Kimmel every night and why I get all giddy when Joan Rivers appears on television. No doubt Joan is the queen of comedy and talking smack - she's amazing! I think most of you know that Jimmy Kimmel and his show is not only my personal hero but something I look forward to every single night... with that being said check out these HI-LARIOUS clip, it's going to make you feel good!!!

HOW DO I FEEL?

I don't know exactly how I feel about these stilettos for preemies. Watching Jimmy Kimmel last night, he had a kick-ass spoof on these shoes called the "HEELARIOUS" baby shoes.
Would you want your baby crawling around in these faux high heels? On one hand they could be a great Halloween costume, however if you were to strap these suckers on your baby daily I don't know how I'd feel about that. PA-LIZ ARE BOTH DUMB!!!

Did you happen to catch The View this morning? If you didn't see it then I suggest you log onto YouTube and find it - it was great television!!! The cat fight was of course four against one, all the gals were at Elisabeth's throat regarding Sarah Palin, and she deserved it.

It got especially heated, leading to a commercial break when Barbara Walters acknowledged Hasselbecks contributions to the show and told her that she loved her being apart of the panel but she asked her why she always defends the Republican ticket and never looks at them critically. Hasselbeck then said that she once said that Obama was a great man. Um, Lis, that's not what Walters was saying!!!! Lis went into Palin Mode and couldn't even answer the questions correctly! They couldn't even show the second clip of Palin not correctly answering Couric's question about what national magazines she regularly reads - check it out below, it's a great laugh! COURIC ASKED THREE TIMES!!!!!!

On a seperate, yet similiar note, Jimmy Kimmel had a funny commentary last night about Palin's jab at Biden's age. He had a few funny one liners but the one that was the most halarious was him responding back to Mrs. McCain's laughing to Palin's joke about Biden's age. Kimmel noted that Cindy is married to a Branchiosaurus. Kimmel is a total stud and him and his writers are pretty ingenious! Joseph Siyam, can we go see Kimmel again?

TEQUILA ON THE RED CARPET

I almost pee'd my pants watching Guillermo, Jimmy Kimmel's parking lot attendant, handing out shots of tequila at the Primetime Emmy Preshow!!! I have to give Sanda Oh major props for her spontatity and energetic personality. Overall Guillermo got over 20 people to take shots with him and the stars were so candid and sweet! Check this clip out below, it will certainly bring a smile to your face.

WHAT I LOVE

If there's one thing I would want everyone to know about me is just how much I love music. Okay, maybe that's a generic, much like saying 'everyone likes to smile." But music is a central part of my life, lyrics in particular really move me and can make me a sappy, hopeless romantic or direct me to the Internet to research a verse in a song. Natalie Merchant often quotes many folk songs that I love to look up on the Internet and read more about. One song in particular she sang that got me to think as a kid was the song called What's the Matter Here. Have you heard it? Well it's about child abuse and it's a pretty powerful song that is oddly accompanied by an upbeat backing musical outfit - typical of her former band 10,000 Maniacs. Please, if you haven't heard it then take a few minutes to listen in on a great, timeless song!


On my way to have dinner with a friend tonight I had my iPod on it's usual shuffle. Often times it replays the same old songs time and time again which gets a bit tiring, however tonight it played a song that brought me to tears. Strange because I didn't even know that I had this song on my iPod. What was it doing on there? How did I get it? Did I buy it? I forgot this Angelic song even exsisted, what a great song I let slip from my mind. I know this might sound a bit strange but the lyrics spoke very similarly to some thoughts that have crossed my mind in the past few days and weeks. The song made me vulnerable. After it ended, guess what I did? I sat in my car and listened to it again while waiting for my friend to arrive at the restaurant. Enjoy it below!
