NOT ATTRACTIVE
Depeche Mode - Hole To Feed
I don't know what to think about this video to be honest. I almost lost my Subway sandwich when I saw the people tonguing throughout the entire video - especially with the mustard *belch*! I have this thing about kissing with the tongue - especially if the person doesn't know what they're doing! So yah, watch this movie with caution and if it takes a few times before you finish it I completely understand!

I managed to record Martin singing 'Somebody' last week at the Hollywood Bowl. Of course no amateur recording would be complete without the obnoxious girl singing in the background - enjoy!!! DEPECHE ON KIMMEL

On Friday, April 23 my all-time favorite group, Depeche Mode, played Jimmy Kimmel. Wait, wait, wait... let me clarify something. Five bands every week play Kimmel - no big deal. Smaller bands with a small fan base usually perform in Jimmy's intimate indoor concert theatre, at most it fits in about 100/200 people - yah, not too big. There is also the other outdoor arena concert called the Pontiac Garage. Much bigger than the indoor theatre, the Pontiac Garage easily fits one thousand people if properly crammed in, in fact I've seen Dave Gahan, lead singer of Mode, perform on this stage numerous years ago! But when Depeche Mode comes to town what to do? If you are the new and upcoming W Hotel in Hollywood you partner with Jimmy Kimmel and erect a huge stage on Hollywood Boulevard stretching four LA city blocks and host a party that would almost seem like Times Square! Depeche Mode attracted a crowd of an estimated 10,000 people *some papers say that 14,000 people could have been present but I doubt that*. 
Eric and I had been planning on spending the night on the Boulevard but decided not to when I found out that my tickets would not get me front row - instead media tickets in the media bullpen about 150 yards back. Needless to say it was bitter sweet to know that we would not have to endure the cold night but would also not be able to see the band up close like we planned. *insert sad face here* Overall the day went pretty fast and I was also blessed to spend time with Lisa and Tumara - two people I've known forever... I wish Karen and Laura could have been there! 
To make a long story short the band too the stage and rocked the boulevard - what an unforgettable night!!! Eric and I had an amazing time and I'll never forget it for as long as I live! I Check out this story from Access Hollywood. Below is a clip of their final song 'Never Let Me Down' the crowd downs the hand sway with Gahan. It's hard to hear but the site of 10,000 people swaying their hands together in unison is pretty remarkable!

RARE & LIVE
Very few bands do these kind of unplugged performances anymore, the following are not only amazing to listen to but also showcase Depeche Mode's ability to still sound good LIVE! The song 'Wrong' gets my vote for best overall sounding song, but the song 'Corrupt,' shows how cocky Dave can be and how he gets into the role of the lyrics. On another note, the song 'Wrong,' is nothing like the other songs on the album, extremely different, but you'll have to wait and see what I'm talking about *wink*!!!

Everyone enjoyed the song and video combo of 'WRONG," except for the iTunes subscriber above! 
It's extremely hard to read so I will quote it word for word. "I found this video to be unpleasantly shocking and disturbingly violent. I love Depeche Mode and the song WRONG, but I deleted this video immediately."

NUMERO UNO
I'm so very proud of my band Depeche Mode, once again they have clenched the Furious Five at Nine on KROQ. I'm not sure how many nights they have been number one but last night, Wednesday, they dropped down to number two. Numero Uno last night was 'Silversun Pickups' with their new single called "Panic Switch." Depeche Mode's new song is called 'WRONG,' and is a throw back to a more industrial sounding Mode a la the album 'Some Great Reward,' mixed with their 1997 song 'Barrel of a Gun." IT'S A RECORD
It's a record, and I'm not complaining! This week Perez Hilton has managed to mention Depeche Mode twice, his most recent posting is about Depeche Mode is the first band to premiere what is called the iTunes Pass. His post was a fair one and didn't speak ill of the band that's been around for 30 years . i say this because for the past two weeks he has done nothing but trash the new U2 album *hahahahaha*. His first post for Depeche Mode this week was debuting their new video for 'Wrong,' and all-in-all, all but two or three people loved the song and the video - that's a good thing!

HOLLYWOOD BOWL IT IS
I'm not sure if it was leaked or what but tonight on the radio KROQ said that Depeche Mode will play their two Los Angeles gigs in August at the Hollywood Bowl - I've never seen a show there before so I'm excited that they are playing somewhere else besides the Staples Center or The Forum.
AM I BIASED?
Depeche Mode performed *lip-synched* their new single 'Wrong,' in Germany. Am I biased or is this song just an amazing new effort? I just wish Perez would help the band out and give them so publicity. Please P-Nasty, help MODE out, it's just 'WRONG' not to!
IT'S NOT WRONG
It was leaked days before it was supposed to! Surprisingly KROQ 106.7 came through and debuted 'WRONG,' the new single from Depeche Mode. I've been agonizing when I was going to be able to hear it for weeks now. Sad but true scenario is that I would check YouTube five to six times a day, spending at least 15 minutes each time entering different keywords to find the new song - no such luck, Depeche Mode kept this single a secret right up to the very last minute!

Like with their 2005 studio album, Playing The Angel, Sounds Of The Universe features writing credits for both Martin Gore, the group's primary songwriter, and Dave Gahan who after honing his talents on two solo albums, has earned his place as Depeche Mode's second writer. The release also marks a reunion between the band and producer Ben Hillier (Blur, Doves, Elbow), who worked with the band to help give their new album its timeless sound. The first single from the release, "Wrong," grabs the listener's attention from its first stack-heeled, staccato shriek. Over stomping beats, screeching synthesizers, and Dave's overlord chant, "Wrong" already feels like a Depeche Mode classic. Other standout tracks include Martin's velvet-lined Scott Walker croon on the sensual lounge-music ballad "Jezebel," to the sci-fi gospel-blues hymn "In Chains" and "Hole To Feed," which marries modern electronics to a floor-shaking, bone-rattling Bo Diddley beat.

MODE SAYS NO TO 8
It's no big secret that I worship the ground that Depeche Mode walks on, but as of today not only do I love their music but I also love their politics. As you can see from the picture above Depeche Mode clearly supported VOTING NO ON PROP 8. DEPECHE MODE IS 'WRONG'
Imagine me curled up in my bed with my laptop surfing the web trying to find any information on the new Depeche Mode album.
If you can imagine this than this is what I have done every night for the past month or two but still NO WORD, for the most part
details of their new album coming in the Spring has been shrouded in secrecy, especially their forth coming single which will hit radios in February.
Tonight for the first time I heard bits and pieces of song songs that will be featured on the new album. The first 'Wrong' is the best I've heard Depeche Mode in a long while - the song sounds contemporary, electronic and... well, Mode-esque! Another song they have played for crowds, 'Peace' is not as strong as 'Wrong,' but then again I've only heard 40 seconds of each, if that!
Being totally candid 'Wrong' made me swell up with tears and cry... it's amazing to say the least and I am usually harsh on their music and if it's up to par - WRONG is. Take a listen below and let me know what you think...

VINTAGE MODE
If you're a Depeche Mode fan or groupie you're going to like this next tidbit of information, and no it's not about their new album so keep reading.
Most of you know that I took a part-time job at NBC working on the Pasadena Rose Parade, however most of you aren't aware that I'm working closely with a man named Tom who also does a lot of work on the Jay Leno show as well. Tom is really a great guy and whenever he walks into the office I find myself enjoying his company and his way of thinking every time I see him. Yesterday before the Leno show started we were discussing The Cure and how they were appearing on the show that night. I told him that they were among my favorite bands but how Depeche Mode was truly my favorite.
I also disclosed that I was the one who waited for 3.5 days in line to see Depeche Mode make their debut performance on American night time television in 1997 performing their song "It's No Good." When I recalled my time and story in line Toms eyes lit up and instantly remembered Depeche Mode being here as well. Tom told me that he will always remember Depeche Mode singing on the show because it was the loudest audience he has EVER heard on the Tonight Show. I'm not sure how long Tom has been at the show but I am guessing more than 14 years... although I think I heard 20 years, I'm just not too sure!
I was so elated to hear that Depeche Mode had the loudest audience he and the crew had ever heard, especially since bands come and go so often on that show and pop bands like The Jonas Brothers, Hanson, NSync and other popular acts have performed... AMAZING!!!!
