C+ on KOGI

Last Thursday I received the text from Mo that the now infamous taco/Korean BBQ truck was making a stop in SIlverlake. Reading all the hype of Kogi I expected it to be AMAZING, however aside from the sliders the food was lackluster and disappointing. Topher and Moses loved it while Sagat and I agreed that it was less than satisfying.

Check out the great picture that Topher created of the occasion!!!

MEET RACK

I have to give myself props when I see fit and last night I looked extremely hot. Sound too conceited? I hope not because I would never bestow such a compliment on myself unless I saw fit - and last night was that kind of a night. Yes I was at Eagle, not the hottest guys usually frequent there, however tonight, for some reason there were so many hot studs there that I would have considered taking home.

Tj, Chris, myself, and their friend from Seattle, Troy, ventured out to the Silverlake to first enjoy dinner at a new restaurant called Desert Rose, and then jump over to Eagle for their twice monthly club called 'Meat Rack.' The restaurant was pretty amazing - the wine list is elaborate (two points) and the menu is not too extensive (we like that.. too many choices just confuses us). We admired the fact that we had numerous people come check on us throughout the night - extra attention is always nice, it makes you feel warm and welcome, even if you don't need anything.

We hurried to The Eagle to miss the line and meet Cruz - however Cruz ended up calling in sick, so he took a raincheck! The Eagle was decorated festively with shamrocks that looked like penis': just imagine two of the side leaves to look like testis and the middle leaf protruding to look very *clearing throat* phalic. Sorry, that's the best I can do with that description.

At the Eagle we saw pretty much everyone: Moses, Derrick, Topher, Frank, Stefano, Ryan, Steve, Dean, Jeremy Lucido, Marcos, Jason Ridge.... to name a few.

An incident happened midnight that made me nearly throw up so I had to jet and leave the club, but the three hours I was there was extremely fun and I was a hottie there, everyone seemed to like my shirt and the way I looked - PROUD OF MYSELF!

PLAYING CATCH UP

My life has been so crazy the last two weeks that I haven't had ten minutes to blog - yah that crazy!

The 'Italian' and I are still together and things are really going extremely well! It still weirds me out to say 'my boyfriend and I' but on the opposite side of the coin it's comforting to know that there is someone in this confusing city that likes me as much as I like them! I guess the best word to sum up the relationship between us two is 'effortless.' It seems like anything and pretty much EVERYTHING we do is effortless and comes natural to us. We never argue on what to do, where to go and each others friends - he loves Tj, Chris, Moses and I think Derrick *wink* and the few friends of his I've met seem extremely nice and welcoming.

Last weekend we attended a Halloween party thrown by my distant buddy Mario in Downey. Mario always throws the best party's and the turn outs are always amazing, this time he had well over 200 people of of which most of them were in costume - 'Italian' and I were NOT! I was a bit disappointed that we didn't dress as 'ketchup' and 'mustard' or something like that but the time permitted was minimal so we couldn't get it together in time! =(

Regardless we still had a great time and he was able to hang out with Moses and Derrick so that's a good thing! I think we called it quits at about 1 a.m. and then we went home. The next morning he surprised me and took me to a restaurant in Marina Del Ray for brunch (I think the restaurant was called Shangai Red's, I'm not quite sure) which was extremely nice. We arrived around noon and we ate brunch facing the marina and while it was a tad cold it was nice that it was just him and I - no JJ or anyone else.

NIGHT AT THE CEMETARY

Saturday night a bunch of friends decided to head to the Hollywood Forever Cemetary to catch the last film of the summer: ALIEN.

Moses had a group of nine people (Derrick and Kevin to name a few) and I had a five friends with me. It was my first time seeing a movie at the cemetary and a long over due visit. These movies in the cemetary have been going on for years now and every summer I tell myself that I will go but never do. TJ and Chris met up with 'The Italian' and his two friends who were visiting from Italy to see the movie that I had never seen. Have you seen the original ALIEN?

I was floored when I found out that the movie was made in 1979 - who knew? The movie, unlike the original Halloween had held up over time. I was on the ednge of my *errr* blanket while watching the movie, currled up in the arms of the 'Italian.' How romantic huh?

If you have never been to the cemetary to see one of the movies they play every summer you have one more chance! On October 23 the movie group called Cinespia will show the classic horror tale CARRIE in the cemetary in honor of Halloween! Carrie was the first ever horror story book I read and was totally enthralled. If you've read the book then you know what an amazing story teller Stephen King is and how real-to-life the book reads. Of course the movie wasn't as good as the book but with Sissy Spacek it was a great movie for the time!

The movie and the cemetary are must see's - either seperately or together. The cemetary is an old treat filled with infamous Hollywood starlets and unknown locales comprised of many Russian Jews and old money from Hollywood yesteryear!

I will post some pictures later of our trip to the cemetary both on MySpace and on here... Stay Tuned!

ONE NIGHT ONLY: NINE INCH NAILS

Tomorrow night I will be seeing Nine Inch Nails in concert for the first time in 13 years, um yah I'm excited!!! The last time I saw Trent in concert was when they opened up for David Bowie in 1995 at the Forum. Coincidentally tomorrow night I will also be seeing them at The Forum but this time they will be headlining. Wow, to go back 13 year - I was still in high school with dyed black hair and flannels were fashionably in and so was dying your hair black - apparently! I don't remember who I went with - probably Laura, but I remember how amazing he was in concert and the energy he gave off to the adoring crowd. Tomorrow night I am going with Robert, Moses boyfriend, and I am so grateful that Moses is letting me buy his ticket off of him! My friend Eric just bought a ticket to the show too so we will all be partying in the pit... how amazing is that going to be?? Check out NIN during their 1994/1995 World Tour with David Bowie which was called The Dissonance Tour! I didn't know that offhand but before looking it up I didn't think that Bowie and NIN was a good team to travel on the road with. As I remember Bowie was touring under a very strange album, not only was it a dark, gloomy album but it just wasn't him. I can remember watching Bowie and thinking "this is the legend they claim is amazing?" Bowie was trying to match the feel of the concert but it just wasn't working. Looking up the concert tour it states on Wikipedia "This tour observed a format placing Nine Inch Nails as the opening act, transitioning into Bowie's set with joint performances of both bands' songs.[18] However, the crowds reportedly did not respond positively to the combination.[19]" At least I wasn't the only one that thought so! Check out NIN below from that tour... he was amazing!

ROBERT'S INTO KINKY SHIT!

At the end of our night of Sunset Junction, Robert, Moses' boyfriend desperately wanted to see one of his favorite bands of all time Kinky!
He loved the show, but afterwards became fixated on meeting the band and getting any paraphernalia he could. For 20 minutes Robert, above, completely shut Moses and I out and was enamored with the stage breakdown. He wanted the setlist, the cracked drumstick - and to meet the band. While I've heard of Kinky I do not know their music so I thought I'd put a popular Kinky song on my blog for all you Americanas! Oh, and if you don't know Spanish too well then check out their album Reinas, this album has English lyrics but still laced with some infectious Spanish grooves.. get into it and ENJOY!!!

DODGER DOG

Yesterday I attended a Dodger game with the Nationals pitted against our home team. Moses and Robert, his boyfriend (pictured above) invited me and I jumped at the opportunity!

I can't even remember when I last attended a Dodger game and so the thought of Dodger Dogs, Garlic French Fries and hot Latino men all around why wouldn't I accept? Seriously, for a minute, the hottest Latino men do attend the Dodger games on a hot Sunday afternoon - or Saturday afternoon! The men are brown, dark and lovely!!!! I think I had numerous dreams about the men I saw yesterday!

At one point Robert noticed my wondering eyes and said to me "Scotty are you shopping?" I had to admit I was... I'm bad, so bad!!!

The Dodgers ended up winning 2-1 and I went straight to work after, what an amazing day!!!!
